My biggest challenge has been making a scene look as good as the skybox. Very crisp, seamless and high resolution. I have recently created 2 tutorial videos that have not made it into the documentation, but should help with getting started with the asset. working with 3d prefabs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGGeT464miU working with 2d prefabs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zz-TJ7JEwfw I am confused by some of the other issues you are having and would love to get them sorted out. The ParticleManager.cs (if that is what you are referring to) is simply used in the demo scene to disable and enable particles and isn't designed as a feature of the asset. If you could contact me at schmelt@gmail.com we can start a more in depth dialog about the issues you have encountered. Thank you
783776 Fri, 03 Jul 2015 14:47:38 -0000 Updated review of package "Pixel Weather FX" by Lloyd Summers http://u3d.as/ctX
Well

The good: Great particle system. The bad: The documentation is majorly lacking. It doesn't explain what you need in a scene to use this. If you drag and drop the prefabs, they don't work. And if you create a gameobject, and add the particle manager, it will generate a null reference error ... because it has a dependency on a text element - that it shouldn't need. Easy stuff to fix, you can build a better working prefab from the example scene. Just annoying things that slow things down that shouldn't be required to do.

Rated by user: ★★★★
773907 Wed, 01 Jul 2015 04:25:29 -0000 New review of package "Pixel Weather FX" by Lloyd Summers http://u3d.as/ctX
Well

The good: Great particle system. It looks great and works well and will be suitable for so many different projects. Support is great too... I was a little cautious and confused about how to jump in with it and the publisher was very quick to respond with a couple of getting started vids that show how amazingly simple this kit is to use. Great job and I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to add weather to a project where they do not need ultra realism.

Rated by user: ★★★★★
760210 Tue, 23 Jun 2015 23:16:08 -0000 Updated reply to review of package "Pixel Weather FX" by Deadcow http://u3d.as/ctX
Reply from publisher

I am sorry to hear my asset hasn't worked out for you. This may not work for all projects but one solution is to add a 3d collider to the sprites that need to collide with particles. MelvMay from Unity mentioned that better support for this issue should get added later in Unity 5's development cycle. As far as the sorting issue, Unity 5 currently has Sorting Layer and Order in Layer options for particle systems. This can be found under the Renderer options, allowing easy sorting interaction with 2d sprites. Hopefully we see better solutions from Unity soon.
745599 Wed, 17 Jun 2015 15:27:31 -0000 Updated reply to review of package "Pixel Weather FX" by Deadcow http://u3d.as/ctX
Reply from publisher

I am sorry to hear my asset hasn't worked out for you.
